A former antiques dealer, Antonio Carlos Bech, better know as “Toty”, collects old pieces of wood and iron and gives them a new lease of life.
His Creations and works of art attract architects, decorators and designers from Brazil and further a field.
Toty started his workshop project with his sister Sônia Maria Bech on 19 August 1989. Each piece of art is the result of work by various craftsmen, but Toty maintains overall creative control of the project.
Every item is a product of his fertile imagination and involves work by 60 craftsmen. Each craftsmen is given free reigh to express his sensibility in order to meet Toty´s requirements.
The Brazil of Oficina de Agosto is ornate and modern, lirical and sensual, unique yet with many Levels. It is small. It is as big as the Earth.
